Southeast Crescent Regional Commission Announces $21.1 Million in Grants for Infrastructure and Economic Development

Funding available for critical infrastructure, community resilience, and economic development projects.
Columbia, South Carolina ⎯ The Southeast Crescent Regional Commission (SCRC) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for its 2025 State Economic and Infrastructure Development (SEID) Grant Program., with $21.1 million available to support critical community and economic development initiatives across the Southeast. This year’s grant program will support distressed and underserved communities in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
The SEID Grant Program is open to:
- State governments of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia
- Local governments (village, town, city, or county)
- Federally recognized Indian Tribes
- Nonprofit organizations with 501(c) status
Grant awards will range from $50,000 to $1,000,000. Eligible projects include infrastructure improvements, broadband expansion, transportation projects, workforce training programs, healthcare access initiatives, business development efforts, affordable housing solutions, and environmental economic development projects. Priority will be given to projects serving distressed counties and to investments in telecommunications, transportation, and other critical public infrastructure.

- Pre-Application Release: May 12, 2025
- Pre-Application Due: May 27, 2025
- Full Application Released (no later than): June 20, 2025
- Full Application Due (no later than): July 18, 2025
Pre-application submission is required to be eligible for consideration. Applications must be submitted through the SCRC Grant Portal at grants.scrc.gov.
