SCRC Welcomes Jennifer Haflich as Chief of Staff

Federal public-service veteran brings more than two decades of experience in strategic planning, partnership-building, and grants management to the seven-state Commission
Columbia, SC — The Southeast Crescent Regional Commission (SCRC) has named Jennifer Haflich as its Chief of Staff, bringing more than two decades of federal public-service experience to the role.
Haflich joins SCRC from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she held early career roles with the Agricultural Research Service and leadership roles with the Forest Service. During her tenure, she oversaw large-scale initiatives and built durable partnerships across federal, state, and local organizations — experience spanning strategic planning, project management, and grants administration. A U.S. Army veteran, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Humboldt State University and a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Oregon State University. Throughout her career, she has focused on collaborative approaches that strengthen communities and improve public infrastructure.
As Chief of Staff, Haflich will help advance SCRC's mission to expand economic opportunity, deepen regional partnerships, and connect communities with the resources that drive long-term prosperity across the Commission's seven-state footprint.

The Southeast Crescent Regional Commission (SCRC) is a federal-state partnership authorized in the 2008 Farm Bill to promote and encourage economic development in areas of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and all of Florida. SCRC invests in projects that support basic infrastructure, business development, natural resources, and workforce/labor development. SCRC’s mission is to help create jobs, build communities, and improve the lives of those who reside in the 428 counties of the seven-state region.
